Mental Wellness Insight Out

Harnessing Technology & Mental Illness

Media is being able to convey ideas and thoughts to the public in many directions. This is a way to catch the public’s eye and show them different views of life experiences. InnerVision is continuing its efforts to harness technology to improve the quality of life for individuals with psychiatric disabilties.

By harnessing technology (media) InnerVision can share with the local, national and international community how we put “recovery in action” for individuals challenged with a psychiatric disability.

In the Media Connections Group at InnerVision, consumers have begun exploring new outlets to get their message out to the public that "recovery is possible". During the initial months, the group plans utilize media outlets, such as Facebook, YouTube and Photobucket.

As consumers in the Media Connections group progress in their use of media outlets they simultaneously develop other skills needed to support their vocational pursuits.

The Media Connections group strives to lessen the stigma of mental illness by giving consumers a medium to voice their opinions and ideas from their perspectives.

Use of media technologies is a fun and powerful way to harness technology and support consumer strengths on the journey towards mental wellness.
